Direct Connection

Direct Connection is the simpler and less expensive solution. It consists on a connection from a computer to an embroidery machine through a cable.

Depending on the machine brand and model, the connection could be done to the serial port of the computer (serial type) or a special parallel connection (parallel type).

The term Direct Connection refers to the design going from the computer (transmitter) to the embroidery machine (receptor), without any requirement of intermediate memory storage or conversion, and the transmission is done in one step (design exits one side and arrives to the destination).

When is this mode more convenient?

This connection mode is more convenient when one or two embroidery machines only must be connected, the computer is relatively near to those machines, and the computer could be mostly dedicated to the embroidery design transmission (could make other tasks, but must be available at the design transfer moment).

Type 2: EON DC/P

Direct Connection between a computer and an embroidery machine through an external adapter (serial to parallel).

An adapter is interposed between the computer and the embroidery machine. The adapter allows parallel machine models be seen and operated in the same way as serial models, from the software side.

USB Option

Some embroidery machine models allow a connection from the computer USB port (using an optional USB to serial adaptor device) to the embroidery machine.

Wireless Option

Some embroidery machine models allow a wireless connection (WLAN) between machine and computer (with optional device)

Very important notes

EON-DC is compatible with many embroidery machines brands & models; but as most of them don’t count with a standardized communication protocol, we cannot guarantee the compatibility with all models.

Clearly identify the brand, model and the control panel type of your embroidery machine before buying EON-DC. Though, some cases may require additional compatibility tests.

Ask your vendor about requirements of computers, operating systems, supported software, cables and adapters.
